This week's Articulate Challenge was to design a short demo, quiz, or interaction to help course designers learn more about the ADDIE model.
I decided to create a short demo highlighting the top tasks for each step. Here's what I like about this demo.
Short & Sweet
I tried to keep this demo short and sweet. No need to overload you with long sentences, lengthy descriptions and lots of information. Each step includes just the basics of what you need to know about the ADDIE model.
I played around a LOT in this demo with animations. I've been challenging myself to recreate a video I recently saw and tried to incorporate some of what I've learned while doing that into this course. Don't worry - I'll be posting that recreation soon - I'm almost finished with it!
In line with the subtle animations, I incorporated a few background gifs into this demo. I didn't want them to overwhelm the course or steal the spotlight, so I put a super high transparency on them so they're barely visible, but still draw your eye. There's something going on, you may not see it at first, but something's grabbing your attention!
For the evaluation step, instead of explaining what it is, I ask you to evaluate the demo. I wanted to pull the star rating and feedback into a Google spreadsheet but was running short on time, so instead I inserted a tried and true method I've incorporated into lots of my courses. After selecting your rating, you're given the option to enter some feedback. Clicking Submit pulls in your rating and feedback into an email so you can send it over to me. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I hope you enjoy this demo as much as I enjoyed making it. Click the image or link above below to view it in action.
